Site Requirements /Soil Tolerances: Prefers a cool, moist but well drained, neutral soil. Mulch around the base to keep the soil under the plant moist and shaded. Tolerant of summer heat.
Culture: The stems of tree peonies are woody shrubs and do not die to the ground in winter and should not be cut back after frost. No pruning is required, except to cut out dead wood or suckers in early spring. Plant roots grow deep and transplanting can be difficult.

Scarify: Soak in water for 24 hours
Stratify: Warm stratify 70-80 degrees, in a Moist Medium (Not Wet) until roots develop while in the bag. Then cold stratify 40 Degrees F in the bag for 60-80 days .
Germination: Sow 1/2” Deep, in a greenhouse. Keep Moist, (Not wet). Germination should be within 2 months.
