For a 10-day period in late spring, the trees are festooned with 4 to 8 inch long, dense clusters of extremely fragrant, wisteria like white flowers in pendant racemes. Bees are attracted to the flowers. The honey which is produced is quite delicious and sought after. Flowers are followed by smooth, flat, purple-brown seed pods 4 to 5 inches long.
