Antique 19th Century Burmese Shwe Zawa Lacquerware Offering Vessel - 51cm / 21" Measurements – H51cm (21")Ca. 19th century Burmese Daungbaung-kalat or offering vessel. The vessel is constructed from wood, coated in lacquer and gold gilt.This piece is decorated with traditional Burmese astrological motifs, including elephant, dragon and Chinthe, in Shwe Zawa style. The large container stands on three bird legs with a domed lid and pointed top. It would have been used by men (this is a male offering vessel) to make offerings at the temple. The vessel is decorated in traditional black and gold Shwe Zawa style. Provenance: Ex- private UK Collection.
