Aluminum Double Candy Dish with Handle, Thames Aluminumware Tidbit Tray, Nut / Soap Dish

This aluminum ware server - a double candy dish with carry handle - is quite collectible as mid-century serveware. The four corners are pierced and the remainder of each dish is embossed with roses and leaves. Imitating glass makers, the rim has a ruffled and crimped edge. The handle embossing represents a basket-weave. This two-part dish was made when excellent craftsmanship was still highly prized. The bottom edge is marked, "Thames / Japan". Length: 10½ in. (26.67 cm); width: 5¾ in. (14.6 cm); height: 4½ in. (11.4 cm). Condition is very good with very few use marks and no dents (see close-up photo). Use this attractive dish for serving candy or nuts, holding decorative soaps, or as a trinket dish. Circa 1950's. (#42455-A+)
