It was with great sadness that on Jan 2, 2007 HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana of Thailand pasted away at the age of 84 years. HRH was the elder sister of two Thai Kings. Like her brothers - HM King Ananda Mahidol (King Rama VIII) and the reigning monarch HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej (King Rama IX) - King Bhumibol is the longest serving Royal in the world today, over 60 years of service to Thailand.
Her Royal Highness commanded love and respect from Thais across the country. The traditional Thai burial Temple was built to honor the Princess; she will be laid to final rest on Nov. 14, 2008. This set of four stamps is issued to honor and commemorate this much loved Princess.
Thai Post will produce this four stamp set in a limited run of 100,000 sheets. And is a stamp paper number "281", Each sheet is number on the upper right hand corner. The sheet measures 5” x 7” and is ready to mount or frame. We will be doing one offer of 50 of these stamp sheets, each one complete with four stamps. This should add greatly to the future market value.
