根茎切片，晒干。
生理特性
1、根：质坚，皮薄，表面棕红色，具纵条纹，在皮孔。横断面淡棕红色，皮与木质部之间有少量黏性物质。纵剖面淡棕色，具弧形纹理。新鲜根具红色液汁，药味较浓。味涩微苦。
2、茎枝：表面灰色，有皮孔。横断面淡棕白色，质坚。
产 地
主产于广东、广西。
