The U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Crew of Apollo 15 publicity press photographs 1971is for sale. These photographs were issued to publicise the crew of Apollo 15’s visit to the Guildhall, Cambridge in October 1971. It is interesting to note the Apollo 15 mission began on July 26, 1971, and ended on August 7, the lunar surface exploration taking place between July 30 and August 2. Commander David Scott and Lunar Module Pilot James Irwin landed near Hadley Rille and explored the local area using the rover, allowing them to travel further from the lunar module than had been possible on previous missions. Two months after the mission David Scott, James Irwin, and Alfred Worden were in Cambridge, England.

There are 3 photographs bearing an image of each of the 3 Apollo 15 crew members, showing them in their space suits accompanied with their rank, facsimile signature and the words “On his visit to the Guildhall, Cambridge, England October 1971”.

Each photograph measures 8 x 10 inches (approximately) and are in Very Good condition with minor creasing and the top left corner of the Alfred Worden photograph slightly discoloured.

This is a very rare and collectable set of Apollo 15 photographs.
