The official vegetable of the state of Washington. Easy to grow.To get a really sweet onion, the soil has to have a very low sulphur content. The sulphur is what causes the strong onion flavor and the tears in or eyes. The Walla Walla strain has a very high sugar and water content. For a Fall planting, Sow directly into the garden, and keep the seed bed moist after germination for a few weeks to give them a good start. Harvest at the end of summer after the tops have fallen over.
