Handpainted Orthodox icon of Saint Xenia of Kalamata on thick plywood 20mm thick, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with a special varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.

Biography
Agia Xenia was born in Kalamata, Peloponnese in 291 AD. Her parents were called Nicholas and Despina, they were pious Christians and came from the eastern parts of Italy. But because of persistent and hard persecution against Christians at that time, they resorted to Kalamata and settled in a farm outside the city because her father was a farmer.
From a short time, Xenia embraced her soul with fasting, temperance, silence, regular prayer, modesty of speech, tears and vigil. She also helped the poor, the widows and the orphans with all their might.
The prefect of Kalamata Domedian, when he happened to meet her at random, was dazzled by her beauty and wanted to make her wife. But Xenia strongly refused to change her faith and become a woman idolatrous lord. Then Domitean tortured her in the most horrible way, and when he saw that he could not change her mind, he eventually decapitated her on May 3, 318 AD.
After her death the Saint - with the grace of God - has accomplished many miracles.
In 1993 AD. a Temple in honor of her descends to the west of the city of Kalamata and you fall as a Chapel in the Parish Church of Agia Triada, Kalamata.
