  • Description
Here's a very nice unused postcard featuring a view down Bourbon Street in New Orleans, including the Royal Sonesta Hotel and the Old Absinthe House.

The description on the back reads:

Bourbon Street is the birthplace of Jazz. The most famous street in the Vieux Carre or French Quarter is closed to traffic afternoon and evenings. The passing crowd is delighted by the sound of rival jazz musicians. Fancy wrought iron railings and traditional provincial architecture are distinct trademarks of Bourbon Street. Also, everyone enjoys the sights, sounds and food of the French Quarter. Color photo by Jim Doane

The card is identified as being a Mirro-Krome card by H.S. Crocker Co., Inc., of San Bruno, California, published by Grant L. Robertson, Metairie, Louisiana. It bears the code number GLR-C-118.

Size: approx. 4" x 6"

Date: Not dated, but I think the card is from the 1970s (check out the autos and pickup trucks).

Condition: Very fine, I'd say, with minimal edge wear. (Please see scans.)

MULTIPLE ITEM SHIPPING DISCOUNT: I will ship up to 4 cards for the single base shipping charge shown. For purchases of more than 4 cards, the shipping charge will increase by just a small increment for every 4 additional cards.
