1940s/1950s LINEN Souvenir Folder of ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey
Here's a terrific unused souvenir folder/mailer from Atlantic City, N.J. It contains 18 full-color photos in a double-sided accordion format. The exterior of the folder and the inside pictures all seem to have a linen finish. Featured scenes include: Fountain of Light, Million Dollar Pier, Auditorium and Convention Hall, Margate Parkway, Bathing Beach, Bicycling on the Boardwalk, Chelsea Park Boulevard and High School, Elephant Hotel, Steel Pier, Traymore Hotel.
Inside the covers is a narrative describing the history of Atlantic City.
The folder was printed by Tichnor Bros. Inc., 1249 Boylston St., Boston, Mass. Several of the pictures are copyrighted by Fred Hess & Son. I can't find any identification numbers.
Size: approx. 4¼" x 6¼"
Date: not dated but appears to be from the 1940s or 1950s
Condition: Very good+, I'd say. The only flaw that I noted is a tear on the back cover from the left end of the flap slot out to the edge (visible in the last two scans, above) and a corresponding crease at the right edge. Otherwise, the entire folder is clean and fresh, inside and out, with bright colors.
