As if that wasn't hard enough, his dissolute brother, a street-corner philosopher, dies suddenly, adding another four hungry people to Thanassis' already overcrowded dinner table. The lovable hero shows a great deal of ingenuity in his struggles to provide for the huge brood, eventually setting them up well enough to allow him to marry his beloved (Katerina Youlaki).
