In Single Pushing Hands there is harmony between the upper leg and the lower leg while the upper limbs create a circle, both round and big. Its strength can't be increased or decreased. Arms should be rotated inward and outward. The circle can be divided into two semicircles, four areas. A formula verse says: "Bow in the front and empty in the back, then keeps the center naturally; upward in the front and backward in the back then stands the left and right sides."

2.Traditional Yang-Style Taiji Pushing Hands: Double Push Hands With Fixed Step by Li Derun DVD

In Double Pushing Hands, following on the basis of single pushing hands, two arms connect with both hands leading and following. In following we are able to stick; the cross-use of sticking can keep the two arms connecting. Only then can you move freely with the chest. Your head should be raised, your neck will be upright and your hips will be lowered. Relax your chest and abdomen then make your back natural. There's a saying: "Move spirally to neutralize the opponent's force by Tanzhong."

In Pushing Hands with Active Step, using the Four-Sides-Hands with fixed stance as a base, we learn about the four energies of the upper limbs and the harmonious integration of the lower limbs. In Four-Sides-Hand with Fixed Steps, which uses Double Pushing Hands as a base, we learn three steps and four ways of using force. The three steps are step forward, step backward, and step forward and backward. The four techniques of using force are the ward-off, rub, press forward and push. The two performers should move with the embodiment of the identification and opposition of the five elements. The formulas verse describes one "ward-off", two "press forward", three "change hands", four "rub", five "push" and then turn.

5.Traditional Yang-Style Taiji Pushing Hands: Yang Style Taijiquan in Practicl Combat by Zhang Jizong DVD

Techniques of Pushing Hands of Yang style Taijiquan in Practical Combat was directly passed to Orient Knight errant Zhang Ce who was the creator of Taiji Wuaing Tongbi Quan by Yang Jianhou. Yang Jianhou was the third son of Yang Luchan who was the creator of Yang style Taijiquan.


This film embodies the characteristics of Yang style Taijiquan, that is, move as flowing water, comfortable, extended unfolding, natural and smooth, sticking, linking, continuing, and following, neither "no letting go and nor resistance ", making the upper and lower part of the body acting in unison. According to the discipline of sticking, linking, continuing, and following, with out letting go and with no resistance, no discretion and no excess, following the bending to extend. Use the eight techniques of Ward off, Rub, Press forward, Push, Pull down, and Pluck, Elbow stroke and Body stroke, and strength rote to practice the listening by touching and feeling. In this way, you can find how the opponent change his force, and master the technique of "react hurryingly if the opponent moves hurryingly, follow slowly if the opponent moves slowly." and "If others don't move, I don't move. If others just want to move, I move first." Influence the opponent centre of the body, and break his balance of force. Seize the chance to break emptiness with solidness, use the four ounces to neutralize a thousand ponds. There by you can defeat the opponent.
