1920s film posters didn't just overtake other types with the largest variety of artistic and stylistic possibilities, contemporaries said that they also overshadowed them in number. This is largely explained by the peculiarities of the active film market of the time, which showed not only Soviet, but also foreign films. After the second film poster exhibition of 1926, poster artists were given the task to “not just advertise films... but also... give the viewer a certain Soviet viewpoint”.
