Japan Jester Mickey and Minnie Bean Bags 1998 Tokyo Disneyland Anniversary
Jester Mickey and Minnie were released in March 1998 in Tokyo, Japan. The Jesters are the most elaborate and finely crafted of all Disney beanies. They were an exclusive issue, commemorating the 15th Anniversary of Tokyo Disneyland. They are larger and more impressive than mini bean bags - Mickey is 11 inches high, and Minnie is 12 inches. Both are dressed with velvet and satin-like materials in vibrant colors - emerald green, purple, red, and gold, with bands of gold braided trim around all edges of the medieval jester costumes. Mickey has a two-pronged joker hat with two brass bells, and large genie-style shoes. Minnie wears a cone headdress with a bell at the top, and a 15th century style dress in rich colors that match Mickey's. She has gold velour slippers, and even white lace undies!
This Jester set was not available at any Disney Store or through any catalog. They could only be purchased for a limited time at Tokyo Disneyland. They were retired in November of 1998, so they have become very hard to find. Our Jesters are mint, with mint tags, which are marked "15 Years Tokyo Disneyland", and with the original price sticker in Yen on the back. These are a 'must-have' for any serious Disney beanie collector!
