BBC film documentary from 2019 made by the same team behind the excellent David Bowie: The Last Five Years. This documentary traces Bowie’s early life from childhood through to his involvement in various bands in the 1960s to his nascent solo career and eventual commercial success. The film ends in 1973 when Bowie retires Ziggy Stardust. Featuring interviews with family members, friends and colleagues, including Rick Wakeman, Earl Slick, Tony Visconti, Carlos Alomar, Lindsay Kemp, Dana Gillespie and Gus Dudgeon. Includes previously unseen performance footage and unheard recordings. 90 minutes, 16:9 widescreen from digital source.
