  • Description
This footed Flow Blue cream pitcher has an Oriental motif I was unable to identify. It features a pagoda, a willow tree with twisting trunk, a ship, and distant mountains. The rim border consists of florals and 'S' shapes. The body is six-sided, with twelve embossed panels. Height: 5.25 inches. This pitcher is unmarked. On the base and going part way around the 'foot' of the base is a crack. There is a smaller crack, .75" long, on the body panel next to the handle, about .75" down from the rim. On the body, at the protruding points of the panels, there is wear to the glaze (see photos). All of this damage is reflected in the price. This is an early pitcher, estimated to be circa 1860. The color and the shape are outstanding. (#5700-SE+)
