For your consideration an awesome example of authentic vintage kinetic op art!
This vintage acrylic/lucite block sculpture features thick & chunky
crystal clear lucite with a white spherical shaped object
which is "captured" balancing upon a stream of tiny
bubbles protruding from a black abyss (thick black lucite bottom/base).
Someone we showed the piece to indicated that the stream of tiny bubbles
was used by the artist in order to create the perception of continuous
movement which lead to the development of the white orb shape.
Implying that the white orb is made up of many tiny bubbles!
We are not sure if the stream of tiny bubbles was an intended characteristic
or if it was inadvertently developed during the creation process.
Regardless, it's a fun feature of this very cool - unique sculpture!
Reminiscent of Enzo Mari's highly desirable Enzo Mari "Objects" (spheres in resin sculptures)
Awesome Piece combines space age design with kinetic art traits!
Measures approx. 5 1/2 inches tall x 4 inches wide
This piece is void of a signature or any marking/logo that we could locate
In great vintage condition with only very minor surface scratches
