1983 National Geographic Supplement / Poster - Journey Into The UNIVERSE
Description: Here's a very interesting fold-out poster supplement from the June, 1983, National Geographic magazine. One side provides a visual representation of the known universe (as of 1983), along with a series of increasingly detailed views leading to Earth's location in space. These show the Local Supercluster, Local Group, Milky Way Galaxy, Sun's Neighbors, and Sun and Near Planets. The other side shows a selection of photos from the Palomar Observatory Sky Survey.
Size: Folded, it measures about 5.75" x 8.5", then opens out into an approximately 23" x 34" poster
Date: June, 1983
Condition: Very good, I'd say. The poster is fresh and bright, with no extraneous markings. There is, however, some separation at the top (~2") and bottom (~1/4") of the central fold line. (Please see photos.)
**NOTE**: Shipping charges are discounted when more than one of my items are purchased at the same time. See what else I have to offer!
