Flight of the Enola Gay by Paul W. Tibbets. Buckeye Aviation Book Company, Reynoldsburg, Ohio, 1989. First Printing. Tradesize softcover format. Very good condition. 316 pages. From the man who commanded the world's first nuclear strike force. Col. Paul Tibbets flew the Enola Gay, dropping the world's first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, August 6, 1945. On the second page of this book, before the copyright page, Col. Tibbets signed his name under his 'Pilot' photo, standing next to Theodore Van Kirk, Navigator, and Thomas Ferebee, Bombadier. There's an inscription above the photo as well, and dated 9-24-91. This guy FLEW the Enola Gay, folks! This book is a piece of history not a lot of people own. Perhaps only a handful, if I had to guess. So as you might expect, it's not going cheap. Please contact me by Email first before pushing any sales buttons or committing to anything. Be positive if proceeding. I'll insure the package, of course.
