Original Civil War Antique CURRIER IVES-THE SOUTHERN ROSE
Outstanding example of the many lithographs that are now collected from Currier and Ives. Very intricate detailing, and outstanding color make this an amazing picture that exhibits the excellent quality of work that C&I was deservingly celebrated for.
This ORIGINAL ANTIQUE LITHOGRAPH is in GREAT, OR VERY GOOD CONDITION, (AGE APPARENT), still showing all the exceptional colors. Lovely handcolored lithograph print is TITLED: THE SOUTHERN ROSE. NEW YORK, PUBLISHED BY CURRIER & IVES, 125 NASSAU ST.
Print condition: Overall, in a wonderful preserved condition. Slightest water staining on the upper right edges and lower left edges only. The main portrait of the Edwardian Lady is untouched. Does show some flaking of the print, as shown, around her ears, down her back, and more by lower bottom. Print measures 10-3/4 inches wide by 14 inches high. (Maybe can be restored?)
