  • Description
Here is a beautiful hard paste porcelain cup & saucer from Germany. This one has beautifully hand painted flowers on both pieces, and it is also painted with the following: "A Presentation to" and some name or word that I cannot make out. The lettering has quite a bit of wear to it, but the painting on the flowers is pretty much intact. It does have gold trim, but again, some of the gold has worn off. The handle is a "twig" look handle. Saucer measures 5 3/4 inches in diameter, and the cup is 3 1/4 inches in diameter and 2 3/4 tall.

Both pieces are free from cracks or chips. There are some dark spots on the interior cup, but I believe that they are from the firing/glazing process. Marked "Manufactured in Germany" on the bottom of the cup. As you can see, the bottom of the cup is discolored. I believe that this piece would date back to the 1800's, but I am not certain of this. Possibly the early 1900's.
