Castleton's teas are created from select and pure China bushes that are exquisite and delicate. This is a very early season first flush from the estate and has been only lightly withered giving it a "fresh", sweet vegetal profile.Tasting Notes:------------------The longish leaves are well rolled and twisted. The tea has an attractive bloom with light green leaves mixed in with browns, grays and whites. The leaves have an almost shiny appearance with plenty of silver tips & hairs, a first instance of its quality. The dry leaves have an exquisite floral, spicy aroma with tones of honey and roasted nuts. When brewed for five minutes we get light golden liquor with sweet, floral nose with a complex bouquet of vegetal, mild fruity and nutty notes. The cup starts with a smooth, buttery feel with light astrigency, a quintessential first flush character. We get a beautiful light floral flavor with ntoes of peach, berries and lilly with some nutty characteristics. It has an exceptional sweet honey toned aftertaste that lingers on for long.Steeping: 2 teaspoonful per cup (2-3g tea per 8 ounces/ 240 ml) of water at 80°C (176°F) for 4 1/2-5 minutes. For the second infusion we recommend same temperature for 5 minutes.*** If you don’t have a thermometer handy to measure your water temperature, don’t worry!
