FIRST FEDERAL SAVINGS and LOAN - Arlington, Virginia - 1970s Matchbook Cover
Description: Here's a very nice over-sized matchbook cover from First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Arlington, Virginia. Their slogan was "See Us First".
The inside lists the locations of all of the S&L's branches, four in Arlington, one in Alexandria, one in Greenbriar, and one in Fairfax City. A single phone number, "JA 4-2100" is listed for all branches.
It was produced by A. I. Nowicki & Co., Bethesda, MD
Actual Size: approx. 2" x 2" (closed)
Date: Not dated but, based on the old style phone number, likely from the early 1970s or before.
Condition: Very good, I'd say. The cover is quite clean but the striker strip shows some pebbling of the surface, though I don't believe it was actually used. (Please see scans.)
