Royal China Currier & Ives Tea or Coffee Cup The Star of the Road
Vintage Royal China Currier & Ives pattern. This is the Tea or Coffee Cup in "The Star of the Road" scene in blue and white . It stands 2 1/8 inches tall with a 3 3/4 inch diameter opening. The handle is white without decoration. Not marked on the bottom. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or grazing. These were never used.
The Currier & Ives pattern is one of the most famous patterns produced by The Royal China Company. The Royal China Company operated from 1934 to 1986 out of Sebring, Ohio producing over 1,000 dinnerware patterns. The Currier & Ives pattern consists of different scenes based on Currier & Ives prints for the different dinnerware pieces. Royal produced this pattern from around 1950 through 1970. The Royal China Company was sold to Jeannette Glass around 1970 and this pattern was discontinued.
