Cowtown Abilene by Verckler, Steward Signed The Story of Abilene, Kansas 1867-1875 Carlton Press, 1961, lst signed by Verckler Hardback in good condition, with fair Dust Jacket. Text is clean and unmarked, binding tight, owners name inside cover. Dust jacket shows signs of heavy wear with dings, nicks, rips and tears. As the song states "Listen my boys and you will hear my troubles on the old Chisholm Trail." Abilene was at the end of that trail. While in it's time it was known as a high riding mecca for cowboys, it was actually a short 9 years, it still is known by its then reputation as the "wildest"cowtown in the west. This small book details the rise and fall of Abilene as Americans cattle trading center. Powered by eCRATER . List your items fast and easy and manage your active items.
