San Francisco Kaleidoscope by Dickson Samuel signed Stanford Univ. Press, 1949, lst. Signed Hardback in good+ condition, NO dust Jacket, Text clean and unmarked, binding tight, Green & Yellow decorated cover clean and good. Well known in radio in the 1940ies Dickson was in on the ground floor of early broadcast advertising which was just coming into its own. While on the leading edge of this advertising he did a survey of the stations, which were unhappy with the results. He soon found that the radio stations had blacklisted him. He did some writing for KYA and also for NBC under an assumed name. He was behind the series winning the West, Hawthorne House and did police and children's stories for radio as well. In this book you will meet many of the early characters of San Francisco which were part of his series on KNBC under "The California Story". The series ran for almost a quarter of a century.
