Hoffman, yippie non-leader, notorious dope addict and up and at that time member of the rock group The What, was on trial with 7 others on charges of conspiracy to incite riot during the Democratic Convention. Hoffman wrote this while totally stoned, told the judge his court was "bullshit", brought forth his "cultural witnesses" Allen Ginsberg, Arlo Guthrie, Norman Mailer and others, he was convicted.
