COVER CRAFT - 1967 Alaska Purchase 8¢ Air Mail (#C70) Combo FDC - w/ 4 tie-ins
Beautiful combination First Day Cover for the 1967 Alaska Purchase Centennial airmail issue (Sc. #C70). The new 8¢ airmail stamp has been tied in with 4 earlier Alaska-related U.S. stamps: the 7¢ Alaska Statehood airmail issue of 1959 (Sc. #C53), the 4¢ 49-star Flag issue of 1959 (Sc. #1132), the 3¢ Alaska Territory issue of 1937 (Sc. #800), and the 2¢ Alaska-Yukon-Pacific issue of 1909 (Sc. #370).
Very likely a unique combo cover.

Cachet: Multi-colored COVER CRAFT cachet showing a silhouette map of Alaska, a totem pole, and a sled dog team of five Huskies. At the bottom it says that "U.S. purchased the 49th State from Russia 100 years ago for 2¢ an acre.
The stuffer card is from Cover Craft Cachets in Paterson, New Jersey, giving a bit of historical background for the stamp, Secretary of State William Seward, and the public outcry that accompanied the original purchase of "Seward's Folly", a.k.a. "Icebergia" and "Walrussia".
Condition: Neat, clean, and unaddressed (though there is faint evidence that a small address label once occupied the lower right corner).
