Alpine Aster can be established from Aster seeds, and this particular variety features bright-green foliage and produces blue to violet, daisy-like flowers with golden yellow centers. Alpine Aster begins to bloom in late spring, and the showy flowers appear throughout summer and into fall attracting butterflies and bees. Aster Alpine Blue is an excellent flower for rock and alpine gardens or as a border or edging plant. Aster Alpinus prefers moderately fertile, medium moisture, well-drained soils and likes to grow in full sun but tolerates partial shade. Alpine Aster is drought tolerant and can reseed itself if conditions allow.
