As Conductor of The Philharmonia Orchestra, Leonard Slatkin's 1997 recording of Holst's The Planets is comparable to Dutoit's recording for its sound quality. Edgard Varese (1883-1965) was an avant-garde composer who liked to experiment and his Arcana composition may just renew your interest in his work. Gustav Holst's (1874-1934) The Planets had English Folk Song inspirations and is considered one of his best compositions.
