Like all of my cds, this is an Original CD, with original inserts (NO CD-Rs or bootlegs).....
nds and small town orchestras, Darla Farmer creates an entirely distinctive, yet universally appealing sound. Darla Farmer recorded their new album “Rewiring the Electric Forest” in Omaha at Mike Mogis’ studio and quickly gained positive traction with the city’s own Saddle Creek bands, including Bright Eyes, Maria Taylor, and Cursive. Billboard This Nashville troupe, Darla Farmer, is really one of epic proportions. Literally! They feature 7 full time members and play a barrage of instruments. This extremely eccentric group spew musical venom in the form of some wildly adventurous avant-garde, folk, and americana. And really, isn't this what we are all searching for? If not, Rewiring The Electric Forest, should do the trick. The comparisons are tough to pin down, because they really change sounds and influences from one fleeting moment to the next. However, if you can imagine the nasal croon and scream of The Blood Brothers merged with the Burton-esque orchestrations of The Paper Chase and A Whisper in the Noise, it begins to come together. Tom Waits, Nick Cave, and Cursive, and the greatest of high school marching bands and small town orchestras, also strongly come to mind. Regardless of who you compare them to, it's an incredible debut and worth every penny and second you spend on it. "This is the kind of music that might exist between dreams--reveries and nightmares waking you in a sweat, confused, exhausted." - ElectricSailor "...wild, dark, violent, and simultaneously heart-wrenchingly beautiful." - Decoy Music. "...[Darla Farmer] makes ska and thrash play nice together, putting some excitement and verve out there for the delectation of the masses. They rock, and well." - Nashville Rage Tracks: Label: Paper Garden Records Release: March 4, 2008 Total Tracks: 12 Buy this album 1. Tommy Bones 2. Tree On A Hill 3. Sweet Wires of Fire 4.
