The smart 4¾"x 3½" colorfully woven patch offered for your consideration, was the official uniform patch worn by officers of the U.S. Department of Defense. This is an older style patch. A newer patch was designed prior to the discontinuation of the Department. The Defense Department was replaced by Homeland Security. Due to it's size, it is ideal for use on ball caps. It may be worn on a cap, or jacket,or saved as a collector item. This patch is in new unused condition.
