These cards and activities are very helpful to younger children and ESOL students. I use these cards to introduce new words before reading, reconnect the vocabulary after reading the first time, to allow students to understand and discuss meanings of words, use for retelling the sequence of the story, to classify the words in their created groups, and to allow students to make connections from the vocabulary to their personal lives and the text.
