(1860-1925) This painting is by listed Scottish artist Robert Clouston Young and is entitled "BONNIE SCOTLAND". The subject appears to be Ben Nevis and area. The painting is a watercolor heightened with goache and measures 28" x 22" and overall size of the original frame is 34" x 29". The painting is signed at the lower left edge of the image. On the reverse of the painting the artist has named and addressed the piece and the painting has a sticker from the International Exhibition of Fine Arts, Dunedin, New Zealand. We are unsure which year this exhibition was held but date it to ca1900.Clouston Young is a listed Scottish artist who was represented by Glasgow Art Dealer William Gourtles. He was a member of the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolor. Without doubt a superb painting in excellent condition.
