This looks exactly like the type of dress a housewife slipped on in the morning to do her daily work...nothing fancy, practical, easy care.
It is made of a pretty plaid in white over blue; the label states that it is a Nancy Frock made in a Dan River fabric. No size left for us to see.
The front buttons down to low pockets about hip length; a bias band trims the outside of the buttonholes. There is also a bias band on the pockets. The long front seams end with inset pleats.
The skirt is very slightly flared; the deep back yoke has the western look at the bottom. Definitely an easy fit!
It measures 16-1/2" across the bustline lying flat, 15-1/2" at the waist, 19" hips at the pockets. It is 40" in length.
There are a couple of wear spots that you will see in the pictures, a few "snags" where a white raised line that is part of the plaid has caught, and a spot of two...after all this was a housedress!
It's a little piece of the past that has survived just to show us how the housewife of yesterday dressed.
