Jack Anderson Pulitzer Prize Investigative Journalist Two Autographs 1973 Watergate Era
Collection of two authentic autographs sent by famed investigative journalist and syndicated newspaper columnist Jack Anderson (1922-2005). They date from 1973 during the Watergate scandal.
Jack Anderson won a Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting in 1972. His many investigations through the years included ones centering on Senator Joseph McCarthy, the Mafia, J. Edgar Hoover, the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War, Richard M. Nixon, the JFK assassination, fugitive Nazis, ABSCAM, Robert Vesco, Watergate, Iran-Contra, et al. Anderson made Richard Nixon's infamous "enemies list," and in 1972 was the target of an assassination plot hatched by White House aide Charles "Chuck" Colson, who later served prison time for his role in the Watergate cover-up. Nixon had long blamed Anderson for a 1960 election eve story which had alleged a secret loan from Howard Hughes to Nixon's brother, a column which an angry Nixon believed had cost him the presidency to John F. Kennedy.

This item comes directly from the estate of Charles "Chaw" Mank Jr. (1902-1985), noted songwriter, author, bandleader, record producer, sheet music publisher, psychic, radio personality, silent movie theater organist, world champion pen pal, inveterate collector and Hollywood/music fan club pioneer.
