Linen damask tea or hand towel threadwork hem elegant blue 36 inches long huck weave ground hc3417

Your special occasion tea towel or hang it in your guest bath when important people come. It is linen, made in Ireland of huck or pique weave damask. The pattern looks to be anemone or other open flowers. The color is a lovely medium blue somewhere between Alice blue and Wedgewood. The hem is over an inch deep and finished with threadwork. The size is 36 inches (92 cms.) long and 18 inches (46 cms.) wide. Condition is excellent vintage. This is quite an old towel but has been meticulously maintained.

The towel was made by Webb's Linens in Ireland and has a small W woven into each corner. It is also stamped in green on the underside of one corner Webb's Linens Made in Ireland. This is very tiny.
