The Pedavena beer is a native of Belluno , and takes its name from Pedavena , the town where is situated the production site .
Founded in 1897 by brothers Luciani, in 1974 itbecame the property of the company Heineken , which, however, in September 2004 , decided to close the plant of Pedavena . Following this decision, the factory workers were mobilized so that they would avoid the closure of the plant, also involving the major unions, the mayor of Pedavena, politicians and personalities from the entertainment world. Following the presentation of about 44,000 signatures to the European Parliament , the workers along with all citizens of Pedavena obtained on 10 January 2006 , the reopening of the plant. Since that date the Pedavena Factory became the property Birra Castello SpA of Udine, so back to being 100% Italian.
