Length: approx. 28 1/4" (71.5cm) excluding pendant section
A Dominican style Rosary with a pagan twist! With its lack of traditional Christian iconography, almost any faith can find solace in this dark and beautiful Rosary since only the concept and structure remain. The "Aves" are shimmering dark metallic grey non-magnetic genuine hematite gemstone beads, said to strengthen our bond to the earth and protect the wearer. The 6 "Paters" are double-sided antiqued silver pewter crescent moons, symbolizing the eternal cycles of nature. The bottom is connected by a double-sided openwork pewter pentacle (5-pointed star or pentagram) to represent the Goddess/wisdom/elements, and an ornate double-sided 1 1/2 inch (3.8cm) high antiqued silver zinc alloy pewter Egyptian ankh cross to invoke the creative energy of life. Total height of centre and pendant section is about 6 1/4 inches (16cm). Chain and connectors are antique silver tone plated brass. No clasp, it can easily be slipped over the head.
