Subscribers requested an easy way to mirror their trades after the Retirement: One Dividend At A Time, or RODAT subscriber portfolio.
In today’s digital age, pencil and paper and managing complicated mathematical formulas is just too cumbersome and just won’t do.
I created a customized, real time application that tells you, at the touch of a button, how many shares to buy if you wish to mirror a trade.
For months on end, I've heard from subscribers who wished I would make it easy for them to mirror the RODAT portfolio for their own portfolios.
After all, I understand fully, if a subscriber wishes to take full advantage of the out-sized 18% yearly average capital gain and 7.70% income yield performance we have experienced since offering the premium subscription on Seeking Alpha, then they might have an interest in an easy solution to this problem.
In response to this large and frequently expressed subscriber (and Seeking Alpha reader) demand, I have just completed work on an easy to use, yet elegant solution.
I call it "My RODAT Mirror Calculator".
There are very few inputs required from the user. You can see that we have input our intended $500,000 commitment to this portfolio. What's left for you to do is simply to enter, in column E the amount you intend to devote to mirroring the RODAT portfolio. You only need do this once and it will be saved automatically.
Ease Of Operation-Use On Any Computer Or Tablet
Whenever I send out a Buy Alert recommending your consideration to add a position, and after you complete your own due diligence, you would simply open this file and enter the ticker symbol in column C and then you'd enter the number of shares I purchased in column F. (Making an entry of the company name in column B is optional if you'd find it helpful).
Real Time-Operates On The Cloud
With the entry of these two data completed, this new application does the rest of the work for you. With the touch of a button, the spreadsheet will use all the algorithms I've built into it to automatically tell you how many shares to buy, the real-time price of those shares and your real-time cost of those shares.
Also displayed automatically is the annual dividend amount, and the up to the second dividend yield based on that current share price.
Finally, the most important column, on the far right, column L displays the annual dividend income you will be paid if you buy those shares.
Literally, within a second after you enter the ticker and number of shares we bought you will always have all the information you need at your fingertips to make your final decision.
All Output Is In Real Time
With all of the information displayed you can now easily switch windows on your computer to your brokerage company and use that information to place your market or limit order if you choose.
Of course, this application can be used over and over again, forever. When a new Buy Alert is received, you'd simply open the application, type the new ticker right on top of the old one and type the new number of shares we've bought right over the old number in that cell.
No Ongoing Charges
Like my other applications I do not charge any ongoing subscription charges to keep using it. A one-time fee covers a life-time of use for you and you only.
