This war club is carved with the head of a monstrous creature who holds the spherical striking end of the club in its jaws. Such weapons were considered charged with spiritual power, and although made somewhat obsolete by firearms, their use by a warrior merited special honor and esteem. The ball-head form is related, conceptually, to powers derived from spirit beings of the watery Underworld, with the image of a turtle is engraved on the saft of this war club.
These early Eastern Woodland ball headed war clubs are meticulously hand crafted by myself. I make these as accurate and authentic to the original ones as possible in the traditional way. This war clubs are made to order, they are 18"- 23" in length depending on what style club you order and are made from a single piece of hardwood Suger Maple,Tiger Maple, Black Cherry, and Black Walnut,
