DEAN'S MOTEL - Saugus, Massachusetts - 1950s(?) Vintage Matchbook Cover
Description: Here's a nice vintage standard-sized matchbook cover from Dean's Motel, located on U.S. #1 in Saugus, Massachusetts, "8 miles north of Boston, Mass." The place was an Air Conditioned AAA Approved Motel with Television and Telephones. You could even "Dial Your Own Heat". The phone number is given in the old style of "CE 3-1717".
There's no printing on the inside.

Actual Size: approx. 2" x 1.5" (closed)
Date: Not dated, but the old-style phone number probably places it in the 1950s, or perhaps early 1960s.
Condition: Good, I'd say. The cover is just a bit soiled but the yellow color on the front appears to be slightly faded. The striker strip area has some damage, likely from rough removal of the staple that held the matches. There's also an additional set of staple holes which pass through the striker strip and both sides of the cover. (Please see scans.)
