This set of placemats and napkins are recently handmade using Art Deco bark cloth from the 1940s era. The pattern is birds of paradise and tropical foliage on the front and a green basket or tatami mat weave on the back. The napkins are not reversible.
The colors are shades of green and red on a cream background. The fabric is barkcloth and very sturdy. This fabric was primarily used as draperies or slip covers.
The placemats are 13 by 19 inches (33 by 48 cms.)
The napkins are 13.5 by 14 inches (35 by 36 cms.)
Condition is perfect. The fabric is unused vintage but the construction is new. This set would make a great wedding or housewarming gift.
Set consists of 4 reversible placemats and 6 one ply napkins.
Consider using the extra two napkins as cushion cover fronts.
