ROBINHOOD Motor Lodge - Malden, Massachusetts - 1950s(?) Vintage Matchbook Cover
Description: Here's a nice vintage standard-sized matchbook cover from the Robinhood Motor Lodge, located at the junction of Rt. 1 and 60, in Malden, Massachusetts. The phone number was given in the old style of "DA 4-8500.".
The motel's amenities are listed on the inside: Swimming Pool, 40 Ultra Modern Rooms, Coffee Shop, Individually Controlled Heating and Air Conditioning, Meeting and Function Rooms, Cocktail Lounge, T.V. and Telephone Service, Studio Rooms

Actual Size: approx. 2" x 1.5" (closed)
Date: Not dated, but the style of the phone number and use of a postal zone code (instead of Zip Code) probably places it in the 1950s, or perhaps early 1960s.
Condition: Good, I'd say. The cover is just a bit soiled and the striker strip appears to be slightly used. There's also some damage to the striker strip area, likely from rough removal of the staple that held the matches, along with an additional set of staple holes which pass through the striker strip and both sides of the cover. (Please see scans.)
