GLASS HOUSE Restaurants - Vintage 1960s(?) Matchbook Cover
Description: Here's a standard-sized matchbook cover advertising the Glass House Restaurants, a chain that apparently once operated more than 2 dozen locations, mostly in the southeast and south central U.S. Their logo was the outline of a chef in a large floppy hat.
The inside lists "OTHER LOCATIONS", though the matchbook itself doesn't seem to be from any specific location. In addition to various city locations listed in Louisiana (1), Virginia (5), Tennessee (2), Georgia (3), North Carolina (2), South Carolina (5), Indiana (1), Mississippi (1), and Alabama (1), the chain also included restaurants on the West Virginia Turnpike, Kentucky Turnpike, Oklahoma Turnpike (Will Rogers Memorial Section Tulsa, Oklahoma to Joplin, Missouri), Indiana Turnpike and Texas Turnpike between Fort Worth and Dallas.

Actual Size: approx. 2" x 1.5" (closed)
Date: Not dated, but likely from the early 1960s or late 1950s.
Condition: Good, I'd say. The cover is a bit soiled and the striker strip shows only limited actual use. However, the striker area has some damage, likely from the removal and replacement of the staple when any remaining matches and the stubs were taken out. There's also an extra set of staple holes which go through the striker strip and both sides of the cover. (Please see scans.)
