MISTER T'S Restaurant - 1960s Matchbook Cover - Chicago (Edison Park), Illinois
Description: Here's a standard-size matchbook advertising "mister T's", a restaurant at 6731 N. Northwest Hwy. in the Edison Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. It states that it was serving Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, and featured a "BOSTON STYLE FOUNTAIN". It also mentions that the place was "AIR CONDITIONED".
The phone number was given as 763-8508..
There's no printing on the inside.
Produced by Superior Match Co., Chicago, U.S.A.
Actual Size: approx. 2" x 1½" (closed)
Date: Not dated, but I'm fairly certain it's from the 1960s.
Condition: Good, I'd say. The cover is only lightly soiled but the striker strip has some damage, likely from the removal and replacement of the staple when the matches and stubs were removed. There's also an extra set of staple holes which goes through the striker strip and both sides of the cover. (Please see scans.)
**NOTE**: Shipping charges are discounted when more than one of my items are purchased at the same time. See what else I have to offer!
