DESCRIPTION: The reverse print technique of using the opposite side of the fabric was originally created to mimic the look of Hawaiian barkcloth. It has a texture that truly identifies the garment as Hawaiian. The pocket pattern blends into the shirt and there are side slits for wearing over pants and shorts.
This vintage shirt probably hails from the 60s or early 70s. I bought it for my husband, but he gained too much weight to ever wear it, and it just sat in the closet for years. If you like Hawaiian, this is the real deal. It has the original old label with the tiki.
RJC stands for Robert J. Clancey, the founder of the company, whose legacy dates back to the 40s.
