These transaxles are now obsolete as complete replacements. You can still get the new "Made-in-the-USA" Peerless Gear separate modules to make a complete transaxle; current MSRP on the hydro module is $482.00 and the axle module is $298.00. These two new modules are factory-lubricated. The new separate modules do not include the F-N-R linkage, the pulley and fan, or the brake assembly. The fan, pulley and brake parts needed to make it look like Photos 1 & 2 cost $62.00. All the necessary components correctly custom-assembled and aligned to give you Photos 1 & 2 are what I am offering for $915.00. You will need to transfer your F-N-R shift linkage from your original 2000-002B or 2000-003B to the new transaxle. The F-N-R shift linkage is shown on an old transaxle in Photo 4. And if you need a new shifter shock damper, they are $66.00.

This 2000-002B transaxle is the same as, and is interchangeable with, the 2000-003B transaxle.

These 2000-002B and 2000-003B transaxles were manufactured to fit Murray and Murray-badged (Scotts, etc.) front-engine lawn tractors and riding mowers with the foot-pedal F-N-R control.
These transaxles have a 4-1/2"-diameter input pulley mounted over the 7-1/4"-diameter cooling fan, with the pulley centerline approximately 5-1/8"" above the case-seam centerline.
The dampered speed-control lever is on the right side; the brake and free-wheeling controls are on the left side.
They have 3/4"-diameter axle shafts that extend out from the case 5-7/8" on each side; the axles have 3/16" x 2-3/4" keyways with snap-ring grooves on the axle ends. The overall end-to-end axle length is approximately 31-1/4".
The case has two sets of industry-standard mounting holes -- the close-together holes are on 13" side-to-side centers x 1-3/4" front-to-back centers; the far-apart mount holes are on 16-1/4" x 2-1/2" centers.

MOUNTING NOTES:
1. The holes on the lower-front corners of the transaxle are not threaded, since the mower manufacturer uses 5/16"-18 self-threading bolts to hold the front support(s) to these corners. If you are re-using your original bolts or equivalent OEM bolts, make sure they have clean threads when re-installing these supports. If you do not have the original-style bolts and are using standard machine-thread bolts for these front-corner supports, you will need to carefully tap these holes to match the threads of your bolts. WARNING: If you plan on pre-tapping these holes, the case material is only about 0.060" (1/16") thick at the back of these holes, so measure the hole depth and set your tap accordingly, or you will break through the case into the gear-lube area.
2. Make sure you have the front support securely fastened to the transaxle or non-warrantable misalignment will occur.

These are 'A'-Input transaxles -- they mount in the mower with the input pulley, shift arm and brake AHEAD OF the axle ("Axle-Rearward"). DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THIS TRANSAXLE on any rider where the transaxle is mounted with the input pulley, brake and shift arm BEHIND the axle ('B'-Input -- "Axle Forward"), as it is not engineered for this mode of operation.

QUESTIONS? Please -- if you are attempting to use this transaxle to replace a different transaxle -- before you ask a "Will-it-fit?" question, compare the measurements of your transaxle to the dimensions I have listed above for this transaxle, and note the Model and Serial Numbers off your current transaxle. Yes, that may require safely jacking up your mower, removing a wheel, then crawling under the mower with a scale, tape measure, flashlight and notepad, as well as a rag to carefully clean off dirt and grease. In your question, also include the Model and Serial Number off the mower. Thanks!
Also, if you cannot find the 2000-xxx Number on your transaxle but the hydro module has a 6845P91 on its label and the axle module has a 6840P92, this is a 2000-002B or 2000-003B.

FEEDBACK: Our Feedback is 100%, which is good. The latest Feedback, however, is in December of 2011, which may raise questions. The reason for this is because we had to drop PayPal as an Approved Payment Method in our Store due to eCrater’s restrictions, and the only way Feedback can be left is if we show PayPal as an Approved Payment Method and the Buyer pays with PayPal through the eCrater Checkout. For this reason, there are no Feedbacks since December of 2011, even though we’ve had hundreds of satisfied customers since then. If you would like to get a referral from a recent customer near you, please let us know. We have nothing to hide, and your satisfaction is our priority.

Our philosophy..."No matter how many material possessions or awards you may acquire in your lifetime, the only thing you will ever truly own is your reputation."
