Super Hydlide is an underrated and hidden gem on the Sega Genesis. Given its infamous and ignominious pedigree, the game will surprise you just how good it is.
While not a classic by any means; the game is quite solid and is one of the better RPGs on the Sega Genesis. That's really not saying much though as RPGs on the console are few and far between.
What really saves the game from mediocrity is the fantastic music. Super Hydlide easily has one of the best soundtracks for the console. I rank the soundtrack with Streets of Rage 2 and Gauntlet IV; yes, it's that good IMHO.
